I am so very happy with the group of kids I have in my class this year.
All twenty-one of them are sweet and eager to impress me.
As a teacher, it’s a wonderful year when your class size is under 23 children.
Small class sizes allow teachers to give more individual attention to each child. Something they so rightly deserve.
The community of parents that come with each new class is equally as important to me.
Most parents are warm, trusting and willing to work with you as their child’s teacher.
In past years, some parents have been otherwise.
Establishing a positive, trusting relationship with parents is one of my highest priorities.
As a parent myself, it’s what I want and expect from the teachers of my own children.
After all, every parent just wants to know that their children are safe, well-cared for and celebrated for the true,
unique individuals that they are.
In my classroom, we celebrate the wonderful gifts that each child has to offer and share with others.
We treat each other with kindness, respect and compassion.
I won’t accept anything less.
Grade One is such a wonderful year!
I have fond memories of my own first grade experience and have not forgotten the lovely
Ms. Lysack who taught me so many years ago. Thank you to her. It is because of her that I am a teacher today
