The lovely Jen from Mama On The Rocks tagged me in a meme recently via Twitter. Her tweet read, “Don’t hate me”! I had to laugh. Little does Jen know that I love these Q & A thingys because it allows me to be lazy AND create a blog post all at the same time. Some days, it’s just nice to not have to be creative.
So for your reading pleasure today, I will answer questions about things you really don’t need to know. Curious much?
Which living person do you most admire, and why?
I would say I admire my parents and for a multitude of reasons. They’ve been married 40+ years and still together. They immigrated to Canada from Italy with their parents at a young age and, without knowing the language, created a life for themselves in a new country. Even with all their quirky and sometimes annoying ways, they have the biggest hearts and would do anything for my sisters and I. They are a wonderful example of parents loving their children unconditionally.
When were you the happiest?
Besides being a kid, I would say I’m the most happiest right now. Life has never been more stressful and busy but when you’re loved by so many people, the rest doesn’t matter. I have everything I’ve ever wanted in my life within arms reach.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Recently, I went in to get a bikini wax and the Spa Technician (female) asked if she could adjust/move my bikini bottoms as she worked. I said sure. Before I knew it, she had them completely off and I was laying there stark naked from the waist down and spread eagle. Need I say more? I think not.
Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought?
Well besides a new vehicle, a new roof, new windows, new furnace and a new mattress, I would have to say a $150 Coach purse. Husband wasn’t particularly impressed with the last purchase.
What is your most treasured possession?
The answer to this would have to be the engagement ring I received from my husband the day he proposed to me. Seeing it always reminds me of the song he wrote and sang for me on that very special day:)
Where would you like to live?
I love where I live right now. We’re in the perfect neighbourhood and walking distance to the beach. If I had to move, I would love to live in California. I am a lover of warm weather and sunshine!
What is your favorite smell?
I love the smell of my Mom’s homemade spaghetti sauce cooking on the stove. It brings back memories of my childhood.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
I would choose Alissa Milano to play me. She’s cute and little like me. Alright, she’s a heck of a lot better looking than me but you asked me to pick! Besides her, I would pick Rachel Bilson (*Summer* from the OC). A girl can only dream.
What is your favorite book?
Right now, I would say it is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Wells.
What is your most unappealing habit?
I bite my lips. Actually, I lick them a lot too. It annoys the heck out of my Dad and now my hubby is starting to get on my case about it. Sorry! I just can’t help myself. It’s a habit and I can’t stop.
What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?
A sexy little black dress with black strappy heels to match.
What is your earliest memory?
I was four years old and while climbing a tree in my front yard, I slipped and fell. No injuries but scared the crap out of myself that I literally peed my pants! Lovely, I know.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Guiltiest pleasure is French Fries. Love them. Crave them. Need them. Must have them.
What do you owe your parents?
My life. They have done so much for me that no amount of money could pay them back for all the times they’ve helped me out and been there when I needed them most.
To whom would you most likely say sorry, and why?
My kids. I would apologize to them for all the moments and times I talked to them while grumpy, tired or annoyed and wasn’t very nice.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My husband J. Too many reasons to list. He just is.
What does love feel like?
It feels like you’re on the greatest high of happiness ever imaginable. Love gives you shivers, butterflies and makes you feel drunk. It also drives you crazy with frustration, confusion and uncertainty.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I’m so not impressed.
Are you kidding me?
What is the worst job you’ve done?
I worked at Chuck E Cheese while I was in high school. It wasn’t that bad but if I had to pick one, it would be that one.
If you could edit your past, what would you change?
I would change nothing. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason and who I am today is the culmination of everything I have experienced along the way.
What is the closest you’ve come to death?
I was hit straight on by a moving vehicle while I was crossing the street at the age of three. A concussion and a few bruises was all I endured. Doctors said I was lucky to be alive.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Besides my three girls, I would have to say becoming a teacher is my greatest achievement. I feel blessed to be able to work with and mentor children.
When did you last cry, and why?
Can’t remember but I’m pretty sure it was due to a lack of sleep!
How do you relax?
I don’t really. I just started massage therapy recently. A hot shower usually relaxes me before a good night’s sleep. That and the smell of Lavender and Peppermint body wash. Ahhhh….
What single thing would improve your quality of life?
Having a full-time Nanny!
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Don’t sweat the small stuff because, in the grand scheme of things, none of that stuff is important. Be grateful for everything you have and cherish it.
At this time, I’m suppose to tag others to do the same but I think I’ll pass. No one really likes doing these things. Do they?
