Do a big clean of the house.
All year I’ve let things around the house slide. The days I work, I simply ignore the mess doing only the minimum necessary. Everything in it’s place? Check. Dishes washed? Check. House dusted? Are you kidding me?!?!?
Re-organize kitchen and all closets. Purge old or useless items.
It’s only been in the last year that my youngest, Little H, has become more independent leaving me more time to devote to housework. I plan on removing everything from my kitchen cupboards this Summer, throwing out the useless crap we don’t use and re-organizing the cabinets to be more user friendly. They’re not right now and it drives me crazy. The same goes for every closet in my house! Purge and re-organize!
Read a book.
I have Lisa See’s new book, Dreams of Joy waiting for me on my night table. It’s the sequel to Shanghai Girls and I’m so excited to get started on it. I recommend it to you if you haven’t already read either of these two books. Great reads!
Spend time with my sister and her kids.
I promised my sister Gina this year that we’d do more things together with our kids now that my youngest isn’t napping anymore. Day trips to the beach and maybe time spent at the local swimming pool with be part of our plan.
Have BBQ parties with friends.
A Girls Weekend up at Whistler, BC.
I’ve already done this and we had an amazing time. Details of this trip will come in a future post so stay tuned!
The husband has a few trips already planned. He just purchased a family tent from Costco along with a mattress pad for me to use so I’m not sleeping straight on the ground. (Bless his heart.)
Plan fun day trips for the girls and I.
The Vancouver Zoo, The Aquarium, Science World, The Bird Sanctuary.
Visit the library once a week.
You can never have enough books to read around the house!
Hiking adventure with hubby.
Last year, Hubby took me on a hiking trip. He was very kind and chose a mountain I could climb without killing myself. It was so fun. I’m looking forward to doing this again and trying out a new location.
Family portraits at the beach c/o Silvia Photography.
Build sandcastles at the beach.
Play with my camera.
A trip to Vegas, maybe?
We’re booked and we’re headed to Las Vegas for three days. Hubby is being sent there on a conference for work and I’m simply tagging along. I’m looking forward to three days of lounging by the pool, reading a book and a little shopping. Thank you Mom and Dad for watching our girls and house sitting while we’re gone:)
A day at Playland Amusement Park.
Take advantage of my parent’s summer place.
I will try to keep up with my blogging this Summer although I don’t want to lose out on any time I get to spend with my girls outside. Summer doesn’t last very long. Don’t want to miss out on the fun!
Manicures, pedicures (the home kind) and a little sunbathing.
Try out some new dinner recipes.
Make and enjoy drinks like Sangria, Mohitos, Daiquiris and Margaritas.
Hubby just brought home drink mixes from Costco. He’s already made Sangria and we loved it. I’m so looking forward to sipping cool drinks on the back patio while we lounge out in the sun watching the kids play.
Eat lots of yogurt ice-cream in different flavours.
Stay up late.
Don’t think about September.
Have I forgotten anything? What are you doing this Summer?
