For the Canada Day & Forth Of July long weekend, we decided to take the girls up to Mount Baker for a little summer sledding! We threw the girls into the truck and set out for a mini road trip. Two hours later, we were there.
We first checked in at the Ranger Station to get a parking pass and see what the conditions were like up on the mountain. The girls were in awe of the ginourmous tree trunk they saw once we pulled into the station. We just HAD to get a picture of them in front of the trunk!
Once up on the mountain, I just had to take a picture of Daddy with his little girls. I do not usually dress them up alike. They had different shirts on underneath their zip up jackets, really they did! As you can see from their smiles, the girls were happy to be up in the snow.
We pulled the girls along in their sled while they giggled and laughed. They took turns sitting in front and in the back. We stayed up on the mountain for a good two hours and while up there the girls took off their jackets because it was hot! They were fully lathered in sunscreen and well protected by their hats.
The girls were so in awe of their surroundings. They could not believe that there could still be snow on the mountains during summer. Besides running around, jumping and sledding, Little B spent a lot of time just looking around and taking in all of the natural beauty. Before we left, she said …
” Thank you, Mother Nature, for keeping the snow on the mountains for Summer”.
