Someone asked me to come up with a list of places I love. At first, I thought of all the places in the world I’ve traveled to and generated a list of those in my head.
While thinking, I realized I didn’t have to travel very far at all to be in places I love.
I have so many places I love right under my nose.
1. My bed.
It’s a king size and so comfortable. I love my pillow too. It’s a Spa pillow (whatever that means) and feels so good against my head. When I get to sleep, my bed is Heaven.
2. My home.
I love going on vacations or taking road trips or simply visiting family over a weekend but nothing beats the feeling I get upon our return home. Our house is not fancy but it’s filled with our things and to me, it’s cozy and comfy. I love coming home.
3. An empty bathroom.
I love having time in the bathroom to myself. No company. No interruptions. Just me, my toothbrush and my morning beauty regime. If I can get a good 15-20 minutes in the bathroom alone, I come out of there refreshed and feeling like a new woman. If not, it usually ends up being a pony-tail-kind-of- day.
4. My SUV. I love my vehicle. It smells nice because I usually have a vanilla scented hanging air freshener in there. It’s clean too because I like it that way. When I drive to work and I’m alone, it’s SO peacefully quiet … that is, until I crank 94.5 The Beat FM and listen to Kid and Nora go at it in the morning. I love my morning commutes to work.
5. The dinner table.
I love it when all of us get to sit at the table and have dinner together. I love hearing everyone retell the high lights of their day. I love it when my little kids eat what I cook for them without fuss and when my teen eats vegetables. This all doesn’t happen very often but when it does, it’s heart-warming.
6. Our backyard patio.
During the summer months, I love sitting out there and sipping on something with friends or the hubby. I love being able to take a book and sit out there and read it among the quiet of the early morning or at night once the kids have been tucked into bed.
7. My classroom.
I love working part-time and I love the days when I get to go into work and see the kids I’m always so blessed to teach each year. I love how I’ve set up my classroom this year. It’s all open and spacious and full of colour. It’s so warm and inviting. My students and I are going to love being there.
8. Embraced in a *hug* from my man.
Details for this one are unnecessary.
