Here’s how it works –
Write a post about what you love about yourself this week.

“This is a time to celebrate you. We are our worst critics and it’s nice to actually take the time to remind ourselves of the characteristics we are proud to own. So go ahead, look in the mirror, and see yourself through your loved one’s eyes”. ~ Holly & Allison
It’s not as easy to come up with things that you love about yourself.
It’s much easier to list the things you don’t like.
So for my first week participating, I will say that …
I like how I’m always thinking or organizing fun things for the girls to do.
In preparation for Little B beginning Kindergarten and Little H starting preschool, I thought it would be cool to set up a mini-classroom in our living room.
Yes, that’s right. In our living room.
Here’s what it looks like …
I set up a calendar bulletin board on the back of our couch so the girls can play school and practice doing the calendar each day. A great way to practice numbers, weather, the days of the weeks and months and brush up on their public speaking skills.
I put 2 posters up on the walls in the same room. Both are for counting practice. Seeing what the numbers 1-20 look like in terms of things and just a regular counting chart from 1 to 100. Using their fairy wand, the girls practice being the teacher by pointing at numbers and asking their students to name them.
We all practice being the students.
Last but not least, the special shelf I set up against our closet doors to the furnace holds all things school like counters, puzzles, paper, crayons, tracers, sketch pads and books!
I set this up one day while the girls were at daycare this week. You can imagine the look on their faces when they walked into their living room and saw a ready-made classroom for them to play in.
“You’re the best Mommy in the whole world!”
I love it when they say that.
I love the part of me that thrives on doing cool and fun things like this for my kids.
It’s what they love about me too.
