My 3 yr old absolutely, without a doubt, loves art and making crafts. She loves doing them at school and wants to always be making things at home.
After preschool one day, she collected leaves from our front yard and brought them into the house.
We dried them out because they were wet.
We talked about the season of Fall while they dried.
Once the leaves were dry, Little H and I decided we wanted to make a tree using the leaves she had found outside.
So this is what we did.
First, we traced Mommy’s arm and hand on a large piece of white paper.
Then we coloured in the arm and hand with a brown pastel.
Then Little H used white glue to paste the leaves down on our wonderful tree base.
When we had used up all of our leaves, our tree skeleton looked more like a real tree. See the falling leaves? That’s what happens in Autumn.
Little H made a little tree and used orange and yellow tissue tears for the leaves on this tree. Just another way to make an Autumn tree.
We were in craft glory the afternoon we made these trees.
It’s written all over her face!
Another reason why I love being a part-time, stay-at-home Mom.
The best of both worlds.
