My latest find at the dollar store was unpainted wooden frames. I grabbed myself a few of them because I thought the girls would love to paint and design their own for their room.
The frames cost $1.25 a piece which included the glass.
I had planned to do this little art project with the girls over the weekend but I ended up holding off on them a bit. As it turns out, I asked my youngest sister to babysit the girls so the hubby and I could get our Christmas shopping completed and she agreed. While we were gone, the girls could work on the frames with their auntie Sabrina.
The girls were ecstatic when I told them.
Using paint brushes and regular acrylic paint purchased for cheap from the dollar store, the girls first painted their frames in a base colour.
Auntie S guided them along the way but let them do all the painting on their own.
Then they added sparkles.
Once dry, the girls chose items to glue gun to the frames from a box of junk we collect. The junk box is full of all sorts of things from beads, gems, feathers, straws, buttons, pipe cleaners, glitter and foam cut-outs of all shapes and sizes.
Little H’s frame ended up looking like this.
Little B’s frame ended up looking like this.
Auntie Sabrina made a frame for Teen B because she was wasn’t around to make one for herself. Teen B is into the zebra print.
Pretty funky frames, huh?
