I’ve never really been good at sticking to my new year resolutions.
I’m good at making a list of them.
I suck at following through with them.
So this year, I’m taking a new approach.
I’ve decided wholeheartedly that in the best interest of myself, the only thing I’ll be focusing on next year is one thing.
I’m not joining a gym.
I’m not getting a personal trainer.
I’m not outlining how often or how long I will exercise.
I’m not holding myself to any specific expectations or unattainable goals.
I’m simply going to exercise when I can.
Hopefully, every other day.
If I miss a day, no big deal. Will just get back on track the following day.
I will not expect to look like a supermodel in a week.
I will not expect to see any real results on my body in a month.
I will not exercise with the sole motivation to look good.
I just want to feel good.
I want to have more energy, pant less when going up a flight of stairs and not injure myself when showing my 5 year-old how to do a cartwheel. (Don’t ask.)
I want to get my heart pumping, make my blood move, sweat off my stress, become more flexible and … feel good about it.
I don’t want to quit or give up.
So … 20 minutes.
Every other day.
And Jillian Michaels is going to help me.
Wish me luck!
