flashback friday & let’s bee friends

It’s Friday! I have some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that I don’t have a guest for Let’s BEE Friends today.  I had someone scheduled but they never delivered. I’m sorry.

The good news though is that I’ve decided to still host the Let’s BEE friends link-up! Instead of hosting a guest, I’ve pulled a blog post out from my “past” and am re-posting it for fun.  Why not? It may be something you’ve never read before.

So I guess you could say I’m hosting myself today.
Same rules apply. After reading my post, grab my button from the sidebar, insert it in one of your favourite posts from the week and link-up it up here. Then hop around to the blogs of others and leave them some comment love.

You never know who you’ll meet!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you know me well, you’ll know that …
I’m scared of being in small, confined places. I’m semi-claustrophobic and will hyperventilate if I feel suffocated in my environment.
Although I’m Italian and grew up with a Mother who is a fabulous cook, this skill skipped my genetic make-up at birth. I have potential though. Maybe one day, when my kids aren’t glued to my side 24/7, I’ll have more time to spend experimenting in the kitchen.
I love everything unhealthy ~ from foods, to sweets, to treats, to laying out in the sun and basking in it’s rays.  Oh, to have a  golden tan again!
I was hit by a car when I was three and lived to tell the story. No injuries but apparently, some people think otherwise.
I dislike people who are mean to others. I don’t like people who rain on other people’s happiness. Even more, I dislike people who interrupt others during conversation but let’s not go there again.
I prefer working/spending time with kids more than I do with adults. Children are so much more genuine and funny. Adults are boring.
I get all nerdy over books and social media stuff. I love children’s literature, collect books like they’re worth their weight in gold and get all excited whenever my hubby teaches me something new about the social media world. Blogging anyone?
I’m a sucker for 80′s high school movies and sappy romance stories. I get easily addicted to TV series, especially those I’ve recently found on Netflix. Mad Men, Weeds and Being Erica.
If I’m hungry, I get grumpy and turn into a monster. I need my three meals a day, on-time and snacks in between!
I was attacked by a high school boy when I was in the 6th grade and walking home from school. Having left a math book behind, I ran back to school to get it. On my way there, a teenage boy jumped out from a tree, grabbed me by the arm and held a BB gun to my head.  He demanded money. I kicked him in his privates. He let go. I ran home. < I never felt so scared in my life. >
I’m afraid of spiders but secretly love them. I find them utterly fascinating and love to observe them in their environment or watch documentaries about them. I hate them if they’re in my house or secretly hiding in my bedroom somewhere.
I do and always will love Heath Ledger. ♥
When I was five and playing at a friends, we took 20 rolls of toilet paper, unraveled each one and broke the squares into millions of pieces until we had covered the TV room with what looked like a white tissue blanket. My friend’s mom lost it when she saw our creation and that’s when I bolted from their house for home. I never helped to clean up the mess!
I’m a Summer girl at heart and if ever reincarnated would come back to earth as a surfer chick! Oh yeah, I would ride dem waves and chill on the beach 24/7 dude!
I always try to find the good in people no matter how hard it can be with some. I believe in giving everyone a chance before passing judgment on them. < Insert evil grin here>
I was a Tom-Boy growing up and hated anything girlie. I climbed trees, played in dirt, brought home snakes and bugs and messed up my legs with scrapes and bruises. Oh, did I hate wearing dresses!
I’ve never been the jealous type. I’m always happy for family or friends who come into good luck or fortune. Better yet, I celebrate with them in hopes that they will share with me a bit of their treasure … <wink>.
When I was a freshman in high school, I auditioned to be one of the cast members of a new sit-com that was going to air on CBC. I made it through four rounds of role-play interviews until finally I was cut. The closest I’ve ever come to fame!
I secretly stalk Mama Kat’s blog on a daily basis because I can’t get enough of her wacky sense of humour. I long to find out her secret for looking so good in pictures, even when she’s sick!
  1. I was half tom-boy when I was young….could run with the boys, beat most of them when arm wrestling, loved to catch toads, etc. and I loved Barbies and dolls and the more girlie fare. It was fun to live in both worlds!
    Glad you decided to go with a flashback today! Some of this I already knew, but some was new to me, so I’m glad I could read it all the way through! :> Happy Friday, Bruna!
  2. I loved reading all of this about you!!! You are one interesting girl! And I’m positive if we didn’t live a few thousand miles apart, we would be good friends! ;o) We could eat tons of sweets and have a Heath Ledger movie marathon. I’m even game for ripping up TP and decorating a living room with it (as long as it’s not mine!) ;o) Have a great weekend, Bruna!
    • I so wish we lived close by to each other. I would totally hang out with you even though I’m probably 10+ years older than you. I’m immature for my age so maybe we won’t notice a difference :P
  3. I love this Bruna! I so love learning more about you and your love of children and books.
    I hoard books like they’re gold too and never EVER throw one away. I might want to read it again, or lend it out, or smell it.
    I love the smell of a book!
    A computer can never compare. xo
  4. I am quite thrilled that you are the “guest” today! I didn’t most of that stuff about you. And I agree, adults are often boring……maybe if we still climbed trees, caught bugs, and ran around fast enough to fall and skin our knees we’d been more interesting?
    And quick thinking for a 6 grader with the family jewels and all. gets them every time! A boy once pushing me right out of our tree fort. When he came back down to earth, laughing at me, I hit him over the head with the tree branch that broke on my way down. He never bothered me again.
    Don’t mess with the tomboy!
  5. Loved getting to know you better Bruna! So interesting! Your story about getting attacked was scary. But I like that you fought him off!
    I also love unhealthy food, Netflix, and Heath Ledger. And, I was hit by a car as a child.
  6. So fun to learn more about you. We may be kindred spirits. I like everything bad for me, I turn into a green eyed crazy person when not fed and watered on a regular basis. And I hate small places, especially those with lots of people. Love this list, and so glad you showed that high school kid who was boss as a little 6th grader…scrappy is awesome!
  7. I just recently, as in five minutes ago, got a little huffy with the hubby for interrupting me – a bad habit of his. Annoys me too. Happy belated flashback Friday, B! I’m going to follow your lead and post a flashback post!
