Welcome back to yet another week of Let’s Bee Friends. If this is your first time visiting, you’re in for a treat today.
Let’s BEE Friends is a weekly link-up that features a blogger I choose. My guest is given the options to answer interview questions or come up with a list of 10 things about them. Once you read my guest’s post and leave them comment love, you’re invited to link-up a favourite post of yours from the week via the linky below. You are then encouraged to hop around and read the posts of others. It’s a great way to meet and get to know other bloggers and make new friends along the way. All I ask is that you include my button in your post
It’s that easy and everyone is welcome!
Today’s guest is sweet Nicole from By Word of Mouth Musings! A mother to two girls and a wife to MR51%. Not only does Nicole take care of a home and family, she also home-schools her daughters. On top of that, she blogs! Talk about being busy! For her guest post today, Nicole has decided to take a leap and share 10 things about herself.
So sit back, relax and get to know the funny behind Nicole …
What a pleasure to be invited here today into Bruna’s lovely little corner of the blogosphere. I know her blog is called Bees with Honey, but in my head it is always Sweet like Honey – because of what she brings to her bloghome.
You would think that with my anal need to make lists for everything (even adding things I have already done just so I can have the opportunity to cross them off) that making a list about things you didn’t know about me would be easy. Not so much …. so here goes ….
Hi, my name is Nicole and I write a little blog called By Word of Mouth Musings – I hate the name of my blog and would love to rename it but my actual name is already taken. By a porn writer. She uses words like animalistic. It makes me sad. It also feels creepy.
I write about parenting, homeschooling, adoption, infertility, my girls and also my husband aka MR51%. Occasionally he calls for a retraction. When we were going thro infertility we shared more I overshared info re: the lost boys aka ‘spermcount’, unmarked specimens, and basically more than Mr 51% ever thought should be shared … so treading lightly here … a few things you didn’t (probably want to) know about me.
I am really, really, really scared of what may live under my bed and take a big leap up onto it with my heart pounding in case a hand reaches out and grabs me – I only ever do this when Mr 51% is out of town.
I like to eat cereal during the day, as any meal, out of a coffee cup and always walk around while I eat it. Am particularly fond of kids sugary crappy cereal that I don’t like my kids to have …
Not a fan of slapstick or silly crude humor incl. Monty Python. Seemed to date boys who did, then compounded it by marrying one. (the same one who can channel the Asian Homosexual Gangster from The Hangover and did just that at a dinner party to my absolute horror.)
I don’t like to see myself naked, have been known to shower at dusk with no lights on. Who over decided that bathrooms should have mirrors on every wall, is no friend of mine.
Had never sworn in front of my children, til last year I swatted a mosquito which exploded on Wiki’s wall. She admonished me for saying ‘poop’ in her bedroom. She also doesn’t understand why people want to walk around saying ‘poop, poop’ – she has a point. They don’t know the F word and my youngest believes the bad word starting with S is stupid.
I started blogging because year after year, people would tell me that I should be a writer after reading our annual letter. Its a little different trying to come up with that daily – sure many are regretting their encouragement. I have no idea what my blog wants to be when it grows up bit I have been blessed to meet so many wonderful people both on and off line thro my blog. I cannot imagine my life without these friends in it. I’ve had one fallout in the blogosphere that hurt my heart, I hope that bridge is mended someday.
I have been blessed with a supportive husband – for that I am grateful. Many men don’t get blogging, and I am not sure mine does either – but he goes with it anyway. MR51% has purchased laptops, iPads, tickets and hotels to help me along this road. Then I have weeks where there is no time for blogging and I want to throw in the towel and stop wasting his money. I don’t believe that a balance can be found for family, homeschooling, travel and blogging – something always appears to suffer.
Which brings me to my children. I have two special girls, one is born of my heart – adoption is the greatest gift there ever could be. Years ago I thought I would be a career girl and wasn’t sure I would have kids … now I can’t imagine life without them – and homeschool them no less.
(and no, it isn’t always a walk in the park)
But I am also fortunate to have girlfriends who are like family too me. I believe that friendships are sacred, that friends should lift eachother up and always be there for one another. I really will do anything for a friend. Friendship is a two way street, when it feels as tho its becoming one sided, negative or sapping of my energy – eventually I let it go. (this may not be a great character trait to have)
People who judge others in the name of religion drive me absolutely crazy, judgement day will come soon enough, its not your job and when God said Love One Another … He really did mean everyone …
Thank you so much for having me here today Bruna …
and as always
