My two little sweethearts went back to school yesterday and I wasn’t around to dress them, do their hair, breakfast with them, take their photo or shower them with hugs and kisses. Mommy, the teacher, had to go back to school/work too.
Thankfully, Daddy was able to work from home. He took this photo of the girls just before they set off for school. The teenager refused attention from her parent paparazzi. She thinks she’s too cool for this yearly ritual. Little does she know I’ll be posting her school photo once it comes into my possession. After all, once my daughter, always my daughter – which means I get to swoon over her too, regardless of her age.
Cheers to the end of a beautiful summer and best wishes to all for a fun and exciting new year!

What a cute photo. My teenage son would run when I took out the camera his last few years at home. But I was determined. The last first-day-of-school photo I got of him was getting into the car of his friend with a frown on his face. It’s one of my favorite photos.
That’s funny. My teen walked grumpily passed her Dad and said, “I’m late!” and then rushed off.
Looks like your hubs did good with his first-day-of-school duties. The girls look adorable. Hope they (and you) had a great first day back!
