ready for Fall

As summer is coming to a close, I’m a bit sad to see it go.  How could anyone not miss the lazier days, time spent at the beach, camping, hiking, swimming and all of the other fun outdoorsy things we get to do as a family throughout this season?

Just around the corner, however, is the beginning of a new season. Fall or Autumn if you wish to call it by it’s more formal name.

So goodbye Summer AND hello Fall!

Fall means …

cool, crisp mornings, light jackets or sweaters.

the changing colours of leaves on the trees that beautifully  decorate my street.

the Pumpkin Spiced Latte returns to Starbucks. Mmmm.

families get together over a large feast to give thanks for all that we have.  I get Thanksgiving dinner twice a year thanks to my American hubby.

we get to wear the collection of boots we have in our closets and accessorize with things like scarves and hats.

a new season of my favourite television shows.

salmon fishing <— according to the hubby.

apple and corn season.

a trip to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving and pie eating.

making Halloween cut-out cookies at Grandma’s house.

the festivity of Halloween with dressing up, candy collecting and parties.

making a new batch of homemade red and white wine.

Most importantly, Fall means a whole new season of fashion! Bring on the fall colours, accessories and trends!

I’m ready for all of it … Pumpkin Spiced Latte in hand :P

  1. I bought myself the first box of pumpkin spice coffee for my Keurig. A little piece of heaven right there. I’m also sipping my coffee out of a Halloween mug. Too early? :)

  2. Fall is the best time of the year, I must agree! Love pumpkin bread, pie, roasted seeds, and of course carving or drawing faces on pumpkins. We might even try pumpkin bread-pudding in the crockpot!
