Having a little extra time to myself is simply wonderful.
“This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.”
― Taylor Swift
This school year has granted me an extra 2.5 hours a week of extra me time. Now that Little H is four, she attends preschool 3 times a week for 2 and a half hour sessions each time.
What have I been doing with my free time?
Lots of things!
You’d be surprised to learn that I haven’t been using my free time to blog at all. A year ago, I would have spent any extra free time writing for this blog and neglected all of the other things that make me happy. Oh how I’ve learned since then.
Since school started, I have been …
reading
shopping
having coffee with friends
making things for my classroom or preparing fun activities to do with my students the following week
organizing my home
decorating Little B’s bedroom
and keeping up with laundry.
And being able to do all of this has been nothing short of sweet. I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven.
Check out Little B’s room. We are finally finished with adding to it’s existing decor.
Little B couldn’t be happier. She loves to show her bedroom off to family and friends and wants to hang out in there all the time.
Next project for me?
Little H’s room!
Wish me luck and stay tuned!

There is no greater feeling of accompishment IMO that a nice clearout/redecoration project! We finally got rid of Theo’s criba nd moved a bed into his room! I’m just breathing in the space!
I love clearing out, organizing and purging stuff. Can’t wait to get started on Little H’s room!
Love the owl picture so sweet. It’s great to hear that you are enjoying some extra time to do the things you love!!!
I’m into owls for some reason. They’re adorable. Luckily, Little B like them too
Lucky you to have free time! Glad Little B likes her cool room!
The free time is awesome. So glad you think little B’s room turned out cool. She thinks so too!
I love what you’ve done with little B’s room, so adorable! And I’m so envious of your “ME” time, good for you for using that time to do some of the things you love. Enjoy every moment of it mama!
I need to get started on Little H’s room. She keeps asking me ” when we do my room, mommy?’. Oh the pressure!
Only 2.5 hours? My son goes to school all day every day…won’t lie…it kills me. I would trade it for half days any day.
I can’t imagine Little H being gone all day already. I’m glad I still have her for half days when I’m home. Next year will be hard!
love the colours of her room – so pretty. Funny how we learn so much after that first year of blogging excitement! I’ve been trying to get out and have more me time too. Even if it’s just a walk to our downtown for a tea at the local cafe.
Thanks Rorybore! As for blogging, it’s all good in moderation:)
