Two years ago today, I created Bees with Honey, a personal journal about my life through written word and photography.
Over the last two years, I have gone from being over-the-top obsessed with blogging to finding a happy balance, writing only when I’m inspired.
Writing for my blog has allowed me to share stories about my life and connect with other Mom writers who do the same. I was even fortunate to meet a fabulous group of mom bloggers who live in my area. The Mother of All Tweet-Ups is what we called our little gathering and so it was!
In honour of my blog’s two year anniversary, I am dedicating this post to a group of mom blogging ladies I have connected with and grown to adore over the past two years.
Here goes …
Stasha from The Good Life is beautiful, full of energy and a very talented photographer. I follow her on Instagram and Facebook and live to view her life through the creative way she captures and shares it on-line. Mom to a very handsome and smart boy named Jack, Stasha’s stories and photography never cease to entertain me. Be sure to check out Stasha’s weekly link-up titled #MondayListicles. She’s definitely the master list maker!
Sue from Cookies Chronicles is the most down-to-earth, sweet gal you’ll ever meet. She has, in her possession, the secret ingredient to looking younger than her age. She inspires me with the energy and commitment she puts into ensuring her son lives a gluten free lifestyle. She eats everything organic and makes all of the meals her family consumes from scratch. To top it off, Sue loves books as much as I do. You should check out her book club blog!
Amanda from Lilahbilty is a super hip, self-defense guru mother of two. When she’s not mothering, she works as a speech and language therapist. Amanda entertains me with posts about her adorable daughter Lilah and her latest edition, baby Henry. I loved following Amanda’s pregnancy over the last 9 months via Instagram. Who looks that good preggers?
Meeting Nadia from Mama and the City was a surprise waiting to happen. Having met her shortly after finding her blog, she surprised me by being the wife of an old high school friend. Can you say small world? Nadia inspires me with her fun sense of style and her passion for photography. You’ll meet her once and she’ll make you feel like you’ve known each other for years!
Lisa from the Schwartz Chronicles got me with “I’m a teacher too!”. Not only is she super nice, warm and welcoming, she’s married to Captain Canada who happens to be a fabulous photographer. I love reading Lisa’s blog because, with every read, she takes me along on every journey, adventure or trip she goes on with her family. The Schwartz’s have a lot of fun together.
Deborah from The Truth About Motherhood is one of the first mom bloggers I met when I started out in bloggy world. She took me under her wing and taught me the ropes of Twitter and introduced me to so many of her friends on-line. She is, by far, one of the best writers I have discovered on line and I have loved getting to know her and read about her beautiful daughters and the husband she calls The Big Guy. Deborah also hosts a weekly link-up called Throat Punch Thursday. Be sure to check it out!
Nenette from Life Candy is the coolest gal on the block. Not only does she openly talk about Gerard Butler being her hypothetical boyfriend, she writes about motherhood, kids, family and healthy living in the most entertaining of ways. I always leave her blog having had a few chuckles. Want to get healthy? Nenette is also a health coach. Check out Life Candy or her FB page for more details!
Bianca from Bits of Bee runs with the same hive I do. Why wouldn’t she? Us Mama Bees need to stick together. Bianca, by far, is the only woman I know that suits every hair style change she undergoes and she has tried many. Her beautiful face fits perfectly into any look she dares to sport. Besides being hair savvy, Bianca is a working mother of two super cute kids, one boy and the other a girl. She writes about everything but I am inspired most by her family adventures and stories about being an adoptee. She also hosts a weekly link-up called #QuoatableBits. Be sure to join in!
Harriet, a communication specialist and Senior PR Associate, writes for her own personal blog, See Theo Run. Harriet writes about the open adoption she has with her son Theo and shares the fun adventures they explore as a multicultural family. I love living vicariously through Theo’s adventures as I follow Harriet’s pics on Facebook and Instagram. Theo is an adorable little guy with the best head of curls ever!
Janice from Mommy’s Lounge is a homeschooling mom to three super cute kids. Janice is funny, poetic and courageous for taking on the responsibility of educating her own kids. It’s hard enough being a mom to your kids let alone their teacher too! It’s always fun seeing what Janice and family are up to via Instagram and Facebook. Love poetry and writing your own? Janice hosts a poetry link-up called Poetry Corner. I encourage you to check it out.
Susi from BocaFrau is a sweeter than sweet, mother of 3 who loves photography and social media. She loves baking more than cooking and I die every time she shares a recipe. Can you say Pumpkin cupcakes? Mmmm. I love chatting with Susi on Twitter and I think her weekly link-up #PicturePerfect is totally fun. You should check it out!
RoryBore from Time Out For Mom is a busy mom of 3 who loves to make people laugh. You get this the minute you read one of her posts. She’s funny, fun and totally entertaining. I always leave her blog with a smile on my face. Want to link up with her for some coffee over a virtual chat? Check out her #TuesdayCoffeeChat. You’ll thank me later.
These are only a few of the friends I’ve met through blogging. There are so many more! I would need to start a new weekly meme to highlight all of them.
To all of you, I just want to say “thank you” for entertaining me with your life stories and pictures and offering me up a friendship I have grown to value and cherish.
Thank you for BEE’ing my friend.

Happy bloggiversary my sweet friend!! Ia m so glad I can call everyone on your list a bloggy pal including you! Xoxo
Stasha, the pleasure has been ours. You are a breath of fresh air!
Happy bloggiversary!!! And thank you. I’m afraid I haven’t been the best bloggy friend lately, but you’ll forgive me, right? I have a barnacle attached to me 24/7 and he doesn’t much like it when I sit still, which makes reading and commenting on blogs a little challenging. But I still love following the adventures of your beautiful fam – thank goodness for Instagram!
Amanda, I wouldn’t expect you to have time to read and comment with a new born. Are you crazy?! Instagram is great for enabling us to share out lives through pics. I follow you and your sweet family through the pics you post on FB and Instagram. Henry is growing like a weed!!
Happy blogoversary Bruna! What a gret list of ladies you’ve compiled. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you through your blog and sharing your infectious sense of positivity and fun! I’m glad you’re here.

Happy Blogaversary and thank you for introducing me to all of the cool kids at the party. Ellen
Yes, the ladies I mentioned are definitely cool kids! LOL
Congrats on two years and what a nice way to spread out compliments!
Thanks Stacie. I love sharing compliments with others
Happy anniversary, my friend. You are the glue that holds our blogging family together, and what a family it is (hey girlfriends)! Though you are busy you take the time to mention us all on Follow Fridays and special occasions, and you support us all wherever we happen to be. Thank-you for that! I’m so glad we’ve kept in touch through Facebook while I’ve been away from blogging, and I’m so glad that we met. Come to think if it, you were my first! …Guest blog host, that is.
And it remains my best guest blogging experience – you made me feel so special and welcome. Well, that is your way, after all. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished with your blog and your ability to reach out to others. Here’s to another great year!
I remember hosting you on Let’s BEE Friends! You did a piece on friends you find in the garden. Something along those lines, am I right? Anyways, I have loved getting to know you and I’m SO glad we’re FB friends because it allows me to stay connected with you while you’re away from your blog:) Miss you there, by the way!
Happy 2 years! What a lovely take on the list!
Thanks Kim
I love the ladies I complimented today
Happy Bloggiversary! It takes a bit to find that happy medium. I have discovered that I am a great blogger, but all the social media just takes up too much time. I had to let it go a bit because I was spending too much time online. It is so hard to find the balance, but good for you for finding yours! Have a great, great anniversary!
Finding my happy medium was the best thing for me. Like you, I was spending way too much time on-line and as much as I love writing and connecting with other bloggers, I love my real life.
Oh man, I’m going cry on my turkey leg and mashed potatoes. LOL
Thanks so much for the very kind mention. And how lucky are we to have such an amazing group of blogging buddies….nay, True Friends, to enrich our lives.
See….now I’ve lost my funny and am all emotional. But it’s the good kind that comes from having a full heart.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours today and may you be blessed mightily with all life’s good things.
Also, wine. Enjoy
Rorybore, you never cease to crack me up. Even your compliments and blog comments are funny!!!
Great take on the list! It looks like I have a couple of new blogs to check out:)
Yes, Bridget … check out the blogs I mentioned. You’ll be glad you did:) The ladies are fabulous!
Happy 2 years!
I’m glad you have found a happy balance with blogging. It’s hard to do but it is necessary.
It’s easier to do when you have a career, even if you only work it part-time. Blogging is simply my hobby. A happy balance makes everything good!
What a great list. I know quite a few of those great blogs and look forward to reading the others. Happy Blogoversary!
Thanks Jamie. Yes, make sure you check out the blogs you’re not familiar with. You won’t be disappointed!
Oh my goodness. That is so sweet. Thank you for your kind words. I am sorry I have not been around as much lately. I am still adjusting to working full time.
Happy 2nd Blogaversary.
I bet your busy, teaching full-time! Never apologize. It’s great that we’re connected on FB because it allows us to keep track of what our families are up to even when we don’t have time for blog writing, reading or commenting. Right?
I follow a number of the blogs on your list (great choices) and can’t wait to check out the others.
Happy 2nd Bloggiversary!
Definitely check the others out! You won’t be disappointed
Your list was great. Thanks for recommending new blogs too; I always love to find new ones to read
I love finding new blogs to read too!
Wonderful way to uplift other bloggers.
Thank you. They deserve the uplifting!
