The best thing about coming from a family of girls is growing up having sisters.
Sisters are awesome.
Yes, we had our moments growing up. What sisters don’t? You know the kind I’m talking about. The battles over sharing toys, monopolizing the bathroom and borrowing each others clothes. Oh did I mention hogging the family phone? ( If only we had cell phones back then.)
All that stuff disappears once we grow into mature, responsible adults. Sisters end up becoming your very best friends.
And what do best friends do? They talk on the phone daily. Or in today’s time, they Facebook and text regularly. No time for idle chit chat on a regular phone, right?
My sisters and I always plan a yearly trip and head off together for a Girls Weekend somewhere. Over the years our trips have varied from going to Penticton, BC (Summerland) to soak up the rays during the summer to heading up to Whistler’s Ski Resort for a weekend of dining and dancing. Last year, we went on a power shopping weekend in the good ol’ US of A.
And this year, we took off again – all four us, including my mom. Since we had so much fun last year, we decided to do the shopping weekend all over again.
The weekend was filled with a lot of silliness, self-taken pics and laughter.
We drove each other crazy like usual with our sarcasm and the never-ending way we tease and drive each other bananas. That’s what sisters do, right?
When we weren’t poking fun at each other, we were eating the best comfort food and laughing over good conversation. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my Mom laugh as much as I did during our trip.
Other memories included: FB statuses and check-ins, someone’s visit by Aunt Flo, peanut butter, spending too much money, forgetting our room key, someone’s foot blister, the little box of matches, the lovely Hotel International and four women sharing a bathroom.
Need I say more?
