I really hate when life gets so busy it leaves me no time to write in this little space of mine so today’s post is a sort of catch-up on my life.
In the work related department, I have been really enjoying a directed drawing unit I have been doing with my students. Since we’re learning about animals in Science, I thought it would be great if I taught my students how to draw animals.
The latest project we did was a directed drawing of an owl.
We drew in steps, outlined with a black sharpie and then used water colours to paint our masterpieces.
Check it out …
The students took great pride in their work and were overly excited about how well each owl painting turned out.
As a teacher, I was more than eager to show off these paintings by displaying them on a bulletin board for all to enjoy.
On the home front, we welcomed the arrival of a new family member. I became an auntie again. I have a new nephew and his name is Caleb.
He is so adorable that I have a tendency to hog him when I see him. I’m entitled though because I’m the auntie who lives farthest away from him. I have to make up for lost time!
And last but not least, for the first time ever … my sisters and I had our picture taken with Santa.
We decided on this crazy but fun idea during a mother and sisters shopping weekend we took together last month. I’m so glad we did this. I look forward to doing it again next year. Only next year, we’ll get our mom in the photo too!
