As a teacher who only works part-time, I spend the other half of my time at home caring for my girls and our home. Thursdays, Fridays and every other Wednesdays are my days. Home alone. Me getting to do whatever I want while the kiddos are at school.
It has been quite wonderful.
Besides being better able to keep up with laundry and cleaning, I have also now found more time to devote to health and fitness. As you know, I’ve gotten into Yoga and love it. I’m just now doing a 15 Day Health Challenge with my teenage daughter. More to come on that later. But other than housework, meal prepping and exercising, I’ve had this need to embark on something new.
While I still blog about the living, loving and learning we do as a family here on Bees with Honey, I’ve been digging more deeply into my interests and aspirations in order to find something new and exciting to embark on. I want it to be something that brings me pleasure and a sense of accomplishment.
Well, I found it. I found that “something new and exciting” thing I want to do.
I am making my own teaching resources/tools and selling them to other teachers and parents on-line.
I’ve set myself up an online store over at Teachers Pay Teachers , a website where educators from all over North America sell and share for free, #printable teaching tools and resources to other educators and parents interested in supporting their children’s learning in the classroom and at home.
I have been purchasing resources from Teachers Pay Teachers for the last two years and have found them thoroughly useful in my classroom practices.
Why not make my own resources?
And so I have begun to make a few things that I think parents will find especially useful in helping to support learning at home. As a teacher, friends are always asking me for tips on how they can help their child improve reading and writing skills, including building up their vocabulary bank.
I have already uploaded a few learning resources to my on-line store. They are all printable so you can upload them to your computer and print out the flashcards or worksheets yourself. It’s super easy!
You can see a display of my products in the right side bar of my blog page under the title, Happy Bee Learning Store.
Check it out and let me know what you think? I invite you to share links of my products with friends and colleagues who may be interested in their use.
Sharing is caring!
