1.  What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
You will always see me wearing my engagement and wedding rings. I also like to wear a white, gold chain my Mom bought me four Christmas’s ago.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.  Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?
I twirl my spaghetti but I only use a fork. I am not a dual fork and spoon user when I eat my pasta. I like to twirl it but I also like to slurp it up. What? There’s nothing wrong with sucking up your spaghetti in the privacy of your own home.

3.  How many siblings do you have?
I have two sisters. Gina and Sabrina are their names. Gina and I are 3 and a half years apart where Sabrina and I are twelve and a half years apart.  We’re very close regardless of the age differences.

 

 

 

 

 

4.  Were you named after anyone?
Unfortunately, I was named after my paternal grandmother. No disrespect to her but my name has always been a bone of contention with me in my life. Bruna is not a very common name and throughout the years, I was called everything else except for Bruna. Substitute teachers were notorious for calling me Bruno or Brenda.

 

5.  Coke or Pepsi?
I am not a pop drinker but if I had to choose between the two, I have always been partial to Pepsi. It’s sweeter than Coke and easier to drink. It’s just my preference.

it’s monday AND my birthday

Good morning and happy day!

It’s Monday and my birthday today. I’m pretty sure the weather will be drab and on the chilly side but … I don’t care.

Today is my day.

I love birthdays and I plan on celebrating it even if I’m turning an age I’m not that particularly thrilled about. You’re only as old as you feel and today, I’m feeling pretty darn young!

This week’s questions ….

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home?
We have two fireplaces in our home. We don’t use either one of them. I would love to buy a gas insert for the fireplace so we could use it when our power goes out in the Winter. It doesn’t happen very often but how convenient would that be!?

2.  Can you drive a stick shift?
I am ashamed to admit that I cannot drive a stick shift. I wish I could. I learned on an automatic car from the beginning and have never been motivated to learn standard. Maybe, one day!

3.  How many computers are in your home?
We have a desk top computer. Hubby has his own IMacPro and our teenage daughter has her own laptop. I’ve claimed our desk top as my own but one day, I hope to get my own laptop. I should have one being a teacher!

4.  Are your taxes done yet?  Do you do them yourself?
Don’t even say that word. We’ve thought about it but haven’t gotten organized. Thanks for the reminder though! My hubby does his own taxes on-line but I take mine in and have them done by a family accountant. It’s so much easier having someone else do your stuff for you.

5.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
My favourite meal of the day is breakfast. I love pancakes topped with fruit and whipped cream. Yum! I pretty much enjoy every meal of the day. Eating is one of my favourite things to do. Unfortunately, as I get older, I’m having to watch my portion sizes and cut down on the high fatty, cholesterol filled foods! SO not fun!

1.  What are you wearing right now?
I am sporting my Lululemon yoga pants, white ankle socks, a grey tank top and my Nike zip-up hoodie. This is my favourite outfit for days when I’m home and just lounging around doing nothing. Comfy.

2.  Do you have freckles?
I don’t have freckles but I’ve always wanted them. When I was seven, I took my Mom’s eyeliner and made dots all over my face. When asked why, I told my Mom I wanted to have freckles and for fun, she let me go to school with them. My teacher thought it was cute and complimented me on them. She even let me share my story about them with the class. What? I was a funny kid, I know.

3.  What is your favorite Lifesaver flavour?
I would have to say that Butterscotch is my favourite candy flavour. I could eat an entire package to myself. They definitely don’t last long in my possession.

4.  What is the last movie you saw in the theater?
Believe it or not, the last movie I’ve ever seen in the theatre was Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts. I went with my sister and girlfriend. I love watching movies on the big screen but, these days, we very rarely go anywhere without the kids and babysitters are not easy to come by in my world!

5.  Would you rather live without TV or without music? I would rather live without TV than music. Music has been around forever and an essential part of being human. Music is real, motivating and moving.

1.  Did you get any Valentine’s Gifts?
Well, my kids made me chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I wasn’t feeling well and was hiding out in my room trying to rest. They brought me up two cookies and a glass of milk along with a few little hugs as well. We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight with a picnic dinner. We have all of our favourite treats and then exchange gifts with the kids.  We end the evening watching a family movie together. It has become a yearly tradition.  The girls always have a great time! Daddy and I do too.

2.  What is your favorite topping on something toasted?
I love peanut butter on my toast in the morning for breakfast. It’s my first choice. Second choice would be Hazelnut Nutella Chocolate spread on my toast. It’s yummy but I don’t have it very often.

3.  Do you pick out your outfit the night before?

I always do because I wake so early in the morning and don’t want to make noise and wake the kids. It saves me time om the morning when everything is organized and ready to go.

4.  What food item do you absolutely despise?
I absolutely despise Brussels sprouts no matter how they’re cooked or what they’re covered in. Yuck!

5.  Righty or lefty?
I’m right handed for everything.

It’s that time again! Another episode of Meet Me on Monday! Another chance to get to know the bloggy lady behind the blog.

This week’s questions are …

1.  What do you put on your hot dog?
Well, on the rare occasion that I eat a hot dog these days, I like to have it with ketchup, mustard and onions. Yum! Unfortunately though, a hot-dog is not the healthiest of food choices for me. It’s all about living la vida healthy folks!

2.  Do you play Sudoku?
No, unfortunately I don’t play Sudoku but I hear it’s great for keeping your brain sharp!

3.  What is your favorite vegetable?
I love potatoes of any kind and if we’re not counting calories, I love potatoes drenched in butter. Yum!

4.  Do you color your hair?
At this moment in time, I’m not colouring my hair. I’m trying to give it a rest so that I can get it back to it’s healthy old self. In the past though, I’ve done everything from highlights to streaks to overall change the colour of it.  I have the few little white hairs coming in now but they’re strategically hidden in the under layers of my locks. Unless I wear my hair in a ponytail, you won’t know they exist. Thank God!

5.  What is your favorite brand of clothing?
I can’t really say that I have one specific favourite brand of clothing. I have my favourite stores I like to shop in but to dedicate myself to simply one brand of fashion? Nope. I’m a little bit of everything kind of girl. I like variety:)  If it’s yoga wear though, it’s Lululemon all the way!
